I realised something the other day. I have never fought with anyone in my family. Not once. Sure I have had disagreements here and there but ive never been in a proper argument (if there ever was a term like proper) with my dad, or my mum or my siblings. And I make alot of shukr for that. I'm not writing this to boast or anything - I just feel very blessed tonight to have such a wonderful family.
I was involved in an accident a few months ago, so my car was sent to the panel beater to sort out the dents and whatnot. It was dent free for almost two weeks when some guy blindsides my dad on the freeway last week. My dad and mum are fine Alhumdulillah, but my door needs to be replaced. I dont know what I would have done if they were injured (I dont want to imagine anything worse)
I was hired by the Hartley Road School to do announcements at their annual fair this weekend. Its always fun to do stuff like this, except when I have people who shit on me when their cars have been towed. This is mostly because I maintain my position that if you park like an inconsiderate prick, you deserve the inconvenience of being towed (even though i'l announce it like six times before they do tow). I dont understand what it is about Muslims parking in peoples driveways. I know im generalising but i see it all the time - At the Musjids, in the fairs, at Janazahs. Everywhere.
Doing announcements is more sterile than jumping up and down on the stage liek how I usually do so I used to spice it up with some fake announcements. Like this one
Will the owner of the Red Ferrari please move their vehicle as it is getting alot of unnecessary nazr
And then I saw this artist who I dont particularly like - I think he is an arrogant prick so I always cut him down to size - He was standing about twenty metres away from the info centre so I made this announcement
Atention (insert pricks name here) This message is not for you.
It was awesome seeing that bewildered look on his face. Aah - the little things that give me joy :)
My little sister is back from Yemen. They arrived last tuesday. My big sister and her family are coming down for a holiday in December - they havent been to South Africa since they emigrated seven years ago. I am lucky because ive seen them a few times. I took my mum and sister once as well, but my dad hasnt seen them since then so it will be something.
I decided not to read Istikharah. Maybe I will at a later stage, but right now I am pretty certain about what I want, and I know what I have to do to get it.
Heres a picture of my Hamster. We decided to name her Tubby. Isnt she adorable :) I love her to bits!
